Castello Sforzesco |
This exhibition focuses on a number of anonymous manuscripts from
Leonardo’s Treatise on Painting, illustrated by beautiful drawings from
studies by Leonardo, and about fifty printed editions of the text, from
the first one which appeared in 1651 to 19th century ones. The
manuscripts and printed editions are drawn from the Ente Raccolta
Vinciana and private collections.
The aim of the exhibition is
to highlight the legacy of Leonardo’s notes on art and painting and
their circulation in the art world both in Italy and abroad from the
end of the 16th to the 19th century.
The exhibition is curated by Pietro C Marani and Mario Valentino Guffanti.
