Leonardo attracts over 10,000 a day.

The Art Newspaper’s annual exhibition attendance figures for 2007 reveal that Leonardo’s ‘Annunciation’ on display at Tokyo International Museum attracted 10,071 visitors a day, the highest daily average since the Art Newspaper began compiling attendance figures.

The painting was on loan from the Uffizi gallery as part of the exhibition, The Mind of Leonardo, which took place from March to June 2007. It was part of ‘Italian Spring’, a series of events aimed at promoting Italian trade and tourism. The final attendance figures for the exhibition totalled 796,004.
