Universal Leonardo web site live

Universal Leonardo is an exciting and innovative project aimed to deepen our understanding of Leonardo da Vinci through an international series of linked exhibitions illustrating the unity and diversity of the work of one of the greatest thinkers of all time.

The first stage of the web site offers details of the European exhibition programme as well as a wealth of information on Leonardo da Vinci's works in the realms of art, science and technology.

A unique feature of the web site is the illustrated interactive timeline at the top of each page. This allows users to visualise works by Leonardo through thematic trails which reveal Leonardo's lateral thinking and key concepts underlying his entire production. The timeline also provides a cultural, political and histroical context for the works.

The  web site is still under development and more content and features will be added when it finally launches in Spring 2006.

The Universal Leonardo web site was made possible by a generous grant from the Stavros S. Niarchos Foundation.
